This would be true if you went from Gimp to PSE as well.
PS: Note that coming from PSE, you will have to get used to some differences between the Apps.
Please give it a try and let us know if it satisfies your needs. The closest equivalent I can think of is wavelet denoise which is included with McGimp. But I have a feeling that it isn't the sort of plugin that works with Gimp. I want to open the image, hit it with NI, and move on. It will take me ages to figure when to use which. I see that McGimp has at least six Noise filters, and that's my problem. Noise reduction is always the first thing I do when I open a photo. They keep improving it, which is why I just upgraded. Neat Image is a noise reduction plugin that I have been using it for about ten years.
